While these products are not absolutely necessary to promote health, they can enhance it and I do take them personally from time to time.
Although they seem similar, these are not the same as plant based enzymes. Probiotics contain billions of tiny “good” bacteria to help your digestive system function to the best of its ability. I buy a bottle once every four months and use as directed. Be careful, as more is not better with these and over consumption can lead to gas, bloating, and diarrhea!
If you read the book, you already know about this product. Curcumin is a natural anti-inflammatory and also extreme cancer fighter. 1500 mg before bed will help you to get headed in the right direction!
Not all cinnamon is created equal. Saigon cinnamon is sweeter and is known to bind to insulin receptors thus controlling your blood sugar naturally. I add this to my coffee sometimes and it is amazing! I will also add this to any sweet potato dish I make.
I gave soda up for lent when I was 16 and drank it maybe 5 times since then. Ever since that time I have been looking for a healthy alternative to soda. Enter KOMBUCHA! Kombucha is fermented tea that is created by brewing a scoby mushroom with sugar. The scoby eats the included sugar, along with nutrients in the tea, producing acids, enzymes, amino acids, polyphenols, and a light carbonation. If you read the book, you’ll know all the benefits fermented products provide for us and why I recommend them. I drink at least 3 Kombucha’s a week and it keeps me feeling amazing. If you’re a prime member, you can get it delivered to your door for $2 a bottle. They typically sell for $3.69 or higher in the store!
Kombucha Home Brew Kit
If you love the taste of Kombucha then it’s time you start making your own! I have been making my own for over 6 months now and it is an amazing feeling. In my opinion it tastes better than the store bought Kombucha and there is a certain amount of pride that goes into making your own, not to mention the reduced cost as well! Don’t be scared, it’s a super easy process and this kit will make the process fail safe. You can also add ginger, or any fruit you like to make tons of other flavors. All it takes is patience!
Another fermented product, Kefir is a great alternative to Kombucha if you choose. Kefir is made by fermenting milk grains and have a load of benefits including, but not limited to:
- Boosting Immunity
- Healing Inflammatory Bowel Disease
- Building Bone Density
- Fighting Allergies
- Improves Lactose Digestion
- Kills Candida
- Supports Detoxification
Once again you can purchase Kefir already made in the store however, I recommend making your own. This kit easily gets you started and you’ll never look back!
Alkaline Water Filters
Acidity in the human body produces disease. The top three producers of acidity are alcohol, sugar, and caffeine. Water is the basis of life and is something we all consume very very frequently. I advocate drinking tap water mostly due to the dangers of plastic bottles, AND the fact that there is no filtration or regulation of bottled water. Modern alkaline water filters can cost $1000 or more and require professional installation. Lately manufacturers have been producing smaller, more personable and travel friendly alternatives. Alkaline water tastes better and will definitely improve your health in the short term but should not be used all day every day. I drink alkaline water for one full week, then take 3 weeks off. Systemic enzymes have just started to hit the scene in the last couple of years and it’s unfortunate how many people don’t know about them. If you read the book you’ll remember how I talk about digestive enzymes and how they help break down your food if taken before a meal. Systemic enzymes are taken BETWEEN meals so they don’t get caught up digesting food and quickly enter the blood stream where they make their way to the tissues and assist in intelligent and adaptive healing. Here is just a short list of what they can do:
- Reduced systemic inflammation for: Increased heart health, cancer and disease prevention and recovery, Alzheimer’s prevention, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue relief, and more.
- Cleanses the blood of debris.
- Breaking down and removes circulating immune complexes.
- Dissolving fibrin in the blood, reducing the risk of clots.
- Dissolving fibrin in arterial plaque, thus leading to the breakup of arterial plaque.
- Eliminating the risk of DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) when flying.
- Boosting the immune system.
- Killing bacteria, viruses, and other invading pathogens.
- Improved circulation.
- Eliminating CICs
- Eliminating autoimmune diseases.
- Reduced risk of and response to food and pollen allergies.
- Accelerated recovery from sprains, strains, fractures, bruises, contusions,
- Faster recovery time from workouts.
- Help with MS.
- Help with arthritis.
- Eliminating plaque from teeth.
- Helping with sinusitis and asthma.
- Dissolving arterial scar tissue.
- Aiding in cleansing and detoxification.
- Improved body alkalinity.
- Reduced risk of osteoporosis.
While some people will try to convince you systemic enzymes are needed year round, I just use them as a catalyst to clean my body up from time to time. The benefits are real and this is the only brand I trust because they make them right. For an extreme amount of detailed information on why I chose this brand go HERE
Freeze Dried Cauliflower
A lot of people ask what I snack on, and the truth is I really don’t snack. This is a great option for those that do though. Cauliflower is an amazing food in 100’s of respects and you can take these to work and leave them in your desk without fear of having them spoil, or leaving them in the fridge for your co-workers to steal!
With peanut butter, cashew butter, and almond butter no longer being options due to their lectin content and poor quality due to processing, here are a couple of great options. When is comes to nuts, we like them raw, and that what this manufacturer provides. Secondly, they package them in small servings. Just because something is good for you doesn’t mean you get to OVER-consume. These nut butters are so good they’re deadly, and the small packages will make sure you have just one serving. Lastly, I would like to see the packaging to be dark to block the light, but I guess you can’t have everything!
Raw African Shea Butter
An amazing product, this is the ONLY type of lotion I use for my bodywork. My Mother told me never put anything on your skin you wouldn’t put in your mouth. It’s no surprise finding out then that the chocolate industry sometimes substitutes raw shea butter for cocoa butter! That’s right, shea butter is EDIBLE and a simple google search will produce some amazing recipe’s! There are hundreds of benefits to using this lotion and with the super low price, there’s no reason you shouldn’t have it in your home!
Good raw nuts are incredibly hard to find. Most companies roast them – stripping all of the good oils and fats so you are essentially eating a tiny piece of cardboard. Not this company. They dry their nuts instead of roasting them to preserve the oils, and also have the wherewithal to use Celtic sea salt. This company gets an A++ in my book!
